Blind Conviction
Fast read. Interesting characters and family intrigue. Nate Shepherd, lawyer, leads a few towards proving his client innocent through twists and turns. I like clues meted out like this because it draws me into the character. My eyes are tired, but I read this on one day. Enjoy.

Love this series
I don’t write spoiler reviews so if you like legal thrillers, light suspense, or other crime related novels you’ll dive headfirst into this interesting legal thrillers. It always interests me when authors use the oil & gas industry in the plot. I grew up on a farm where we leased land for oil (and we were able to use the natural gas coming from the well to serve 3 families) and 30 years later leased more acreage for natural gas through controversial fracking. The first oil in the US was found by a Mr. Drake while drilling a water well for his wife in NW Pennsylvania in a rural area now known as Oil City, PA. The Marcellus Shale line runs through this area and in recent years, farmers have sold over a billion dollars in leases. Natural gas & fracking is a polarizing issue for many people but for farming communities even more so. Farming is a hard but wonderful life but between Reagan’s farm buyout programs in the 80’s and the new gas boom that area, farms are falling fallow at an alarming rate. Probably TMI but it is an interesting topic. Just imagine you open your newspaper one morning after chores and see that your neighbor just closed a lease(takes up less than 5 acres per pad) for a million dollars plus royalties while you were milking your herd or baling hay the night before. Yes, because of public information policy the paper was/is able to post what was paid to the sellers. Again, this is a huge issue ongoing in the NE farming belt but a huge issue for us too. Every time a farmer stops farming, the public sees it in the increase on a gallon of milk —and that’s not even touching the environmental impact.Sorry for the diatribe, oil and gas industry aside its a solid legal thriller.

Compelling
Michael Stagg is fast becoming a must read author for me. This stand-alone is easy to follow and difficult to put down. No editing errors, gratuitous violence or drag-you-down drama.Interesting storyline of families, farming and wanting to try different things. Plenty of twists throughout and a surprise criminal. Realistic procedures, actions and reactions. Believable characters with distinct personalities and thought-provoking dialogue. No desire to re-read this story. I am definitely interested in this series and other works by this author.

each book gets better
Another great story by Michael. He keeps developing the story to the end. Always an exciting read. Third book this summer.

Product problem
I enjoyed the first two. I like the author’s style and the stories were good. My version of Blind Intent has a problem. Several pages do not load and the message, “Cannot load this page – try again”. It doesn’t work. I spent over an hour trying to find help on Amazon not got nowhere. So be careful.

Book has it all…
I love the main characters in this series; Nat, Danny, Olivia and Cade (reminds me of The Lincoln Lawyer). Nat and Danny are funny. The court scenes are great. I didn’t figure out who did it until the very end. Also, the book doesn’t stop at 89% to tell you about another book. I recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.On to the next one.

Questions remain at the end
Love this author and this character. I didn’t understand the very end. It was clear as far as the actual crime and the guilty person. When the book had a short few pages covering a conversation between the lawyer and his investigator, I could not understand their issue. Of course I was tired…..couldn’t put this great book down!

Too little, too late
Not much of an ending. Basically a wasted story without any relevant facts. The phrase Deus ex Machina was invented for this plot. ****** SPOILER ALERT***** After trying to figure out the whodunnit, a new character was introduced at the 90% point, who was the whodidit.

I am enjoying this collection. It’s nice and easy reading. Sometimes they pull out could be improved on to make it more likely.

I think I’m going to read all the books in this series. The pace is solid and I love the dry humour, it fits right in with me.
