Great Golf Gadget! Worth it!
I got this for a gift for my husband and he LOVES it! One of the best golf related purchases I’ve made for him. He using it weekly when practicing at home. It’s small and light weight, easy to set up and easy to use, and very accurate. It has definitely helped my husband improve his golf game. My husband actually has fun using this when he practices. It allows him to see what he’s doing, therefore, helps him makes adjustments to his swing to improve his game. I definitely think this is worth purchasing. And I absolutely know my husband would agree.

An honest review of the Rapsodo Mobile Launch Monitor by a novice golfer
The value of this product is absolutely amazing! It’s extremely easy to use, and the speed/distance readings are pretty accurate to my numbers that I see when I use professional golf simulators.Having just started teaching myself to play golf back in late August, I really needed something like this so that I could measure and keep track of my distances, launch angles, club head speed, and ball speeds.Compared to some of the devices pros or even some YouTube golfers use, this was a no brainer! (Some of those devices are priced between $10-$15k!!!!) and my wife bought this for me on Black Friday for around $200.This logs all of my sessions, and saves all of my swings! I can’t say enough positive things about it! I haven’t purchased the pro version just yet which gives you more statistics and allows you more storage, but I’m seriously considering it.If you’re in the market and comparing this with some other similarly priced devices, I can save you time, I compared them all prior to deciding and now that I have it, I don’t doubt my decision at all!If only I could figure out how to lower my backspin rpm now to stop taking away from my distances!!Highly recommend! You’ll never go to the range again without it!!

Rapsodo vs Flight Scope’s Mevo
Overall a good device. The setup instructions are bit vague. A couple a things I learned along the way regarding setup. The instructions say hold the device 4.3” from the phone to calibrate. I thought 4.3” seems very precise and must have some impact on calibration. I tried over and over to calibrate the device at close to 4.3” and could not. Finally I reached out to customer service and they told me I could go more than 4.3”. This made Calibration a bit easier. Still a bit of a pain. I also struggled to include my swing in the video when setting the device the recommended 8’ behind the ball. Customer service said I can move the device further back without impacting accuracy. I also learned the heading setting has no impact on the device’s measurement of distance. It’s a little tricky setting the heading.Once set up, the device does a nice job of capturing the data and allowing you to sort it in several ways.Compared to Flight Scope’s Mevo…Rapsodo shows you balls fight path using a red fracking line. It identifies each swing as a fade, draw, straight etc. Mevo does not.Rapsodo provides a google map type image of your range or course and the gps locations of where you hit your balls. You can see patterns clearly. Mevo does not.Mevo provides spin rate and height. Rapsodo does not.Rapsodo’s software allows you to sort data by column and tracks your average distance for each club in a user friendly interface. Mevo does not.Rapsodo only provide video of your swing from directly behind the ball. Your phone must be placed on the Rapsodo device. Video playback is limited. No slow motion or ability overlay video with lines and circles. With Mevo, your phone can be placed in any location and video play back can marked up and played in slow motion. The video feature is one Mevo’s stronger points. However, Mevo saves all the video on your phone in your camera role. 6s clips. Rapsodo will save up to 100 clips on their cloud service. For annual fee of $100 it will save unlimited clips.Overall I think the Rapsodo is the superior device. The only real advantages Mevo offers are the ability to obtain video from different angles, video play back options and the ability to measure spin rate(although you have install a small silver sticker on each ball to track spin rate).Mevo’s software is far better. More than seeing your distance, you can see how you hit the ball, fade, draw etc. The ability to see your average distance by club is easily accomplished. You can sort all your stats various ways including by week, month and year. You can sort by distance, club speed, launch angle, etc. While Mevo’s video is better, Rapsodo’s cloud service is big plus. You don’t have to load up your phone with all the videos. You can track data only with Mevo and not capture video.Apologies for cryptic typing. Typing review from my phone…

Home, home on the range
Honestly I didn’t think any of these types of devices would be worth the money they cost, oh how I was wrong!!I bought the Rapsodo MLM in December and have since then hit over 1200 golf balls with it. The majority of the balls were hit into the net in my garage and a few on the range. It’s winter so fairly cold in the midwest.This thing is amazing to say the least. I can walk into my garage, turn it on, load the app and will be hitting balls within minutes. I am lucky enough to have just over the recommended distances in my garage for the device and the net. It seems like 95% of the time it registers the shot, there are a few here and there that it won’t pick up, but usually those are super high with my lob wedge or a hosel rocket that I probably don’t want it picking up anyways.As for accuracy, it seems pretty good. Having played golf for 25 years, I have a very good idea of how far my clubs go depending on the swing I make. I do kinda wish it had spin rate, but from what I understand about the same priced launch monitors they are just trying to extrapolate the data and aren’t really true spin rate anyways. I guess I’m ok not knowing a guess at what the spin was and it could be completely wrong.The Rapsodo MLM picks up the good and the bad shots, even the ones where I miss the net entirely and have to duck and cover with the ball hitting the garage door, ricocheting back at me. They make for some quite hilarious videos to send friends and family. Plus the ones where I absolutely blast a shot and want to brag. The beauty of the video is I can see exactly what my swing looks like on a good or bad shot, shows me what works and doesn’t, how the shot shape is based on the swing I make. Doesn’t get much better than that. How else do you improve if you can’t see the data along with the video evidence?Not to say there aren’t some things they can improve. The first would be to add Android support. I am lucky enough to have an iPhone laying around the house I can use for this, but others are not and could be a huge drawback or a reason to not buy it. The other is spin rate like I said before, but I want true spin rate, if possible. I guess I would probably settle for some extrapolation if I knew that it was a “good guess” so I know if a driver is flaring because of spin.All in all, this thing is great and will continue to use it even when it does get warm enough for me to go to the actual range, it will just come with me.

Cet appareil léger et simple d’utilisation marie la puissance d’un iPhone ou iPad avec un radar intégré. Ceci permet d’avoir un système performant à prix très raisonnable. Je l’utilise avec un practice dans le jardin (filet de 4x3m) et me donne entière satisfaction. Il détecte automatiquement les coups et permet de revisionner son swing, de faire des statistiques pour chaque club, … Quant à la précision, je me réfère aux essais comparatifs consultable sur la toile.

Great product so far!Been looking for a launch monitor for a while and kept comparing them online, in the end went for this one as it seemed to have the most features, recording your swing and shot tracing being the main one for me.It also helps you work out your normal distances and shot pattern which will help a lot when playing on the golf course.The MLM picks up most swings and is relatively easy to set up.It has definitely made going to the range more engaging and feels like an improvement to regular practice.Haven’t tried it in net mode yet but they release new updates regularly so I’m sure it will be fine for that.
