Fun read! I liked the first enough to immediately start the next one, I don’t want to do a book report or ruin the read for others, why are so many words required for a review?! I’d rather just say: good book, looking for others by this author!

I love a good mystery
I am new to this author and this series. I love a good mystery with well developed characters. I have found both in The Clint Wolf novels so far. I love that Clint, Susan and the rest of the crew are more like family then coworkers. I absolutely adore Achilles and the bond between him and Clint. At first, I wasn’t sure if I liked Chloe for Clint, but she is growing on me, for now. We shall see.I liked the mystery in this book and was totally surprised by who turned out to be the killer. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next.

Great Mystery!
Clint’s wife and daughter were murdered 5 years ago and the killers are in jail awaiting trial. He moved to a rural town in Louisiana and is has been the the Chief of Police for a few years. The relationship between Clint and his is one of mutual respect and trust. The DA is launching a grand jury investigation into a female officer’s actions during a shooting that saved Clint’s life. The DA has a seemingly personal agenda to indict and convict her. Clint tries to rebuild his life while processing his loss. A woman is found dead shot through the heart with an arrow. The team follows the clues to identify the skilled archer as the body count rises. Well written, action packed, well developed characters, surprise ending and excellent police procedural contribute to this great read! My only regret is although the murderer is caught, the other issues are left unresolved until the next book.

Couldn’t put it down!
BJ Bourg’s books are my latest addiction! I struggle to stop reading them because they pull you into the stories so deeply and quickly. Suspenseful and always with a twist! Ready to start his next adventure! Characters are incredibly well developed and people you’d love to meet. Looking forward to starting the next book.

A terrific story
This was a great story with a lot of intriguing twists and turns that will certainly keep you interested. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, basically a tease for the next book, and luckily it’s already available.I would definitely recommend this book, series, and author.

Good Plot – Several Suspects – A bit too much relationship stuff
I enjoyed the plot and the general pacing of the story. For me, the relationship stuff seemed to slow the pacing and became rather boring as the action built and the police got closer and closer to the solution of the crimes. There were plenty of suspects, and the procedural work was presented rather well by the author. There were a few tense moments, and I could feel the heat of the locations described by the author. The major plot was fully resolved, but there was a minor sub-plot that will spill over to the next book. Overall, I would give this book a 3.5 STAR rating.I intend to proceed with the next book in the series after a few other reads, and hope the action will far outpace the relationship stuff in future books. Looks to be a long, long series

A very exciting mystery
Someone has killed three citizens of Mechant Loup, Louisiana, with triple blade arrows shot from a compound bow and Police Chief Clint Wolf and his team of police officers can’t figure out what the victims have in common. The tension is nerve-wracking as the police race around trying to figure what connects the three clearly targeted victims. As one theory begins to take shape, Clint and his officers realize that many others are likely victims and must be protected. You won’t be able to put this book down once you start it. Highly recommended.
