Echo (Breakthrough Book 6)
The world has changed, both for the better and the worse.
Forcing our values to be reassessed, and our very existence rethought.
It began with a breakthrough. In interspecies communication. Leading both John Clay and Alison Shaw through a series of startling discoveries and life-altering revelations. Divulging who we really are as a species. Why we are here…and who is here with us.
And the greatest lesson of all, that our brains are not as rare and unique as humans had assumed. But rather just one of three brains between three extraordinary species. All influenced by a fluke of evolution and something that should never have existed on Earth in the first place. Something we are now finally on the verge of understanding.
It will take more than just one brain to do it. More than just one species. And courage from all three.
Courage in the face of those still trying to stop Clay and Alison before their stranglehold on the world is lost.
But Clay and his team already know the truth. That there is no courage without fear, and no victory without sacrifice.

Great series
All of the Breakthrough books had a bit of everything for readers. Human interest, mystery, intrigue, action and science fiction. To help make the stories very plausible, there is a lot of science fact and history mixed in.I’m an avid reader and enjoy a good story. I really enjoyed this series, and I find Mr. Grumley is an excellent storyteller.

wow
A really great read. Grumley really does a great job with character development, plot inventiveness, and knows how to please an audience. Highly recommended.

Great continuation of the Breakthrough series
It’s been quite a while since the author published this sequel to this outstanding SyFy book series. It’s both exciting and always thought provoking, as with the prior books. He has created unique characters that seem like old friends, so spending time with them is pure joy. Michael builds on the prior books to add to our understanding of the reality he’s created, while partially educating us as well. I like that he’s also accounted for our pandemic-related reality as well to add currency. I also enjoyed the book’s joyful ending. While Michael doesn’t include much “romance” in his novels, the romantic and friendship relationships he’s developed between his characters is essential to the emotional messages delivered in the books and the overall optimistic tone of the novels. I eagerly look forward to the next book!

🐬 I don’t want to say goodbye…
What a brilliant conclusion to this grand adventure series on par with anything by John Rollins or Steve Berry. Having fallen in love with dolphins Sally and Dirk, and all their friends (both human and ape) it was heartwarming to see their conclusion. Nothing I imagined could’ve come close to what’s happened within these pages and the other books in this series. Filled with intrigue, adventure, science, mysticism, history and religion all rolled into the biggest mystery series ever. I urge everyone to read this entire series! Written with such amazing imagery, world building, characters and more…it drew me in so fast my head spun. My love for these characters and their adventure never dwindled with any consecutive books within said series. If anything my love and curiosity only grew. I hate to say goodbye to what I now consider my friends, but what a marvelous conclusion!!! I can’t wait to see what our fearless author does next!!!!

Guess what echo means.
I definitely liked reading this book, but I did have some problems with it. For instance, this is just an interlude in a serial. It is so long in coming, I lose a bit of what happened before. It does not conclude. The name comes from the last ten pages or so of the book, and seems a minor issue to this book even though it might become a major issue later. The story was too short. I have no idea how the cavalry from Rwanda got to Ethiopia in such a timely fashion no matter all the clues about what was happening in Rwanda. Also we’re exposed to two completely different stories and left hanging as to a third. Story two didn’t finish either. Story one, our supporters are being killed one by one. The team sets out to stop the killings. Success (I think). Story two, there’s a correlation in some historical notes that indicate a piece of the alien starship power plant may be something they can find. They go in search, and get into a lot of trouble with backstabbing government officials, and secret religious groups. They escape by the hair of their teeth, but one gets left behind (story three). They are now in possession of secret knowledge, but their treasure hunt did not come back with the power plant. Oh, a vocabulary lesson. It’s unkempt not unkept. Mr. Grumley writes a highly interesting and entertaining tale, but one is best served by reading the volumes before this one before tackling this volume, and Mr Grumley would be better served making his books more integrally complete. Buying this book is committing oneself to the next volume in sequence, since this volume merely dropped hints of further things needing investigation in the future. That’s good enough for your fans (I believe I am one), but not for others.

I loved this 6 book series
Michael Grumley is a really good writer and story teller. His story seem so real and so possible. I can wholeheartedly recommend this entire series to any one with a desire to lose themselves in the pages of a story so well written it just makes sense!

Another Grumley masterpiece. #6 in the series.
This isn’t over. As much as I don’t want to continue this story, I must. It is that good. This story takes place today with interesting new concepts that are available today but taken to a possible conclusion that is staggering. This story even has references to the pandemic we are currently battling. This story is a beautiful mixture of a love story, an action story, a fantasy story, a sci-fi story and finally a nature story. This story literally has everything. It is better than well written, well edited and formatted correctly. It is actually a pleasure to read and when I’m done with his books in the story, I’m really ready to read another.Anyway on to the next when it’s written, can’t wait.If anyone hasn’t read this series I would really recommend that they do so. You won’t be disappointed!

Touching and Brilliant series
Breakthrough being my favorite book of all time, I absolutely love the series. It was so nice to reconnect with the characters as they search for the answers to a lifelong mystery … at the same time grappling with good versus evil and what the future holds for all beings. I highly recommend reading this series in order to understand and appreciate the impact of the storyline. It’s heartwarming, thought-provoking, complicated, serious yet fun, and confusing at times. But it is a journey so worth taking … As it opens your heart and mind to great possibilities. My thanks to this author for rising to another level and sharing it with us.

This is the 6th book in the “Breakthrough” series and I recommend u read it in order or you will not understand the whole plot. This is a very good amalgamation of technology breakthroughs mixed with understanding on what it means to be human or any specific species. The author has made an interesting point on, what would happen if different species could speak to each other using an AI n wat knowledge could they share, for betterment of the whole world ? Eagerly awaiting book 7 now.

Original, exciting, compelling, and extremely well-researched, this is a delightful adventure for any reader! The characters are well developed and the dolphins are marvelous! The plot is compelling and definitely a page-turner – I found it difficult it fit in some sleep while reading!I am especially impressed by the breadth and detail of research! Fascinating insights into everything from military details to the latest in biology, genetics, palaeontology, archaeology, history, world geography/culture/politics… I definitely felt it was “real” and was enthralled to travel the world with the characters! This terrific series has everything a young reader could wish for in page-turning adventure, and everything an extremely jaded and voracious old bibliophile such as myself could hope for!I would strongly recommend this series to anyone who loves to read!
