Bettie-Jeanne –
Excellent read with a difficult topic
How does one say that a book about such a difficult story is such a very good book? Without a doubt,. the ugly world In which Evan was taken Exists. To lose one’s child to such a thing is a nightmare.Yet this book doesn’t dwell on the nightmare itself. It doesn’t take us into watching the physical nightmare in which Evan was held. Instead, different from many books that deal with this basic topic of child kidnapping and sex slavery, It brings us to the experience of the family. It brings us to grief and pain and changes; the horror of what a family experiences.I am a bereaved parent whose beautiful daughter was killed, when accidentally crushed death. I know, first hand so much of the pain Evan’s family Experienced. I always said that there could be something worse than having my daughter dead. And what happened to Evan Is that nightmare.Yet this story is told in such a way That as a return I was drawn in To the hope and the emotion the wanting and the yearning. I think it’s beautifully written story About family, survival, grief, and finding a way not to become a collateral victim of the worst thing that could possibly ever happen. Its really, for me, A story balancing dark with light. It is a story of LOVE.It feels wrong to say that I enjoyed a book that deals with such painful Experiences. This was an excellent read. Captivating. Thoughtful.Painful This style of writing has brought me to following the author and I will be looking at more of Erin’s books. This one deserves the 5 stars, for certain.

Emotional, thoughtful, but not without flaws
Found opens with every parent’s worst fear—an eleven-year-old boy goes missing. Months later, Evan is returned, but he won’t say what happened, and that silence hangs heavy over the whole story. What I liked is that this isn’t just about catching a villain; it’s really about what happens after the headlines, when the family is left to pick up the pieces. The emotional weight feels real—Evan’s grandparents especially brought warmth to the story that I wasn’t expecting. That said, I did have a few mixed feelings. The pacing is quite slow in parts, especially in the middle where it feels like we’re circling the same moments of waiting and worry. I also found myself getting a bit lost with the number of police officers and side characters—it sometimes took me a moment to remember who was who. And while Evan’s silence works as a powerful idea, there were times I wished we could see a little more from his perspective, just to balance out all the external views.Still, despite those bumps, the book stuck with me. It’s less of a traditional fast-paced thriller and more of an emotional journey about trauma, healing, and how families cope with the unthinkable. If you’re okay with a slower burn that digs into feelings as much as mystery, it’s definitely worth reading.
Groovy Sister –
Great story!
I was afraid a book about a kidnapped kid would be handled unrealistically and without sensitivity to what a kid might actually be feeling. Not that I am an expert but the actions of the characters rang true to me. I cared about them. I even cried once or twice. It was a compelling quick read. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

An emotional read rather than a thriller
The story was well written but VERY British. I feel like I got the meaning of half of the British references by context rather than the words themselves. This may have disrupted my reading somewhat. I also find it difficult to follow when the characters are referred to by their first names at times, and their last name at other times. I have to do a mental recalibration to keep everyone straight. And it was hardly a thriller, I didn’t care much about catching the bad guys as I did about Evan, his recovery and his family. The relationships between the police made me feel like this was part of a series, and I was supposed to know about their backstories, but didn’t. The story picked up steam despite the above mentioned shortcomings, and it is a solid 3 star satisfactory read in my opinion, perhaps 4 star if I didn’t have to mentally sift through all the British-isms.

Good read
I rarely read crime stories but this book had good reviews and I was curious. The subject matter is one I find revolting but part of the dark side of the world we live in. Rather than stick my head in the sand I’ve always tried to stay aware of what our society is doing to combat this horror and what, if anything I can do to help. This book was a good reminder to me to keep searching for ways I can contribute to helping in any small way I can. I hope others who read this book will feel the same. All and all, this story was believable and written very well. I appreciated the research that went into all aspects of the story. I especially thought the author did an excellent job showing the emotions and thoughts of not only the victim but his entire family.

What an awesome book! This is one to remember!
I just finished it. It’s definitely one on my reread list. And, I’m already ready to read my second Erin Kinsley book.
Diane D. King –
beautiful story
Touching and intense. Sometimes I felt like the words reached out and squeezed my heart. To me it was more a novel of love and sacrifice of family than of crime and trafficking. But I did like the cop characters. I actually liked every character in the book except for the criminals. This is unusual for me.

very engaging and interesting.
This book draws you in. Well written, catchy and very personal. You get a sense of how everyone reacts and feels in his aura. Very likable and a worthy read.
