Always On My Mind: The uplifting, heartwarming novel from bestseller Beth Moran

From No. 1 bestselling author Beth Moran comes a story about family, friendship and community.

Sometimes when you can’t see the way forwards, the best thing to do is to look back…

When Jessie left home at eighteen, she swore she’d never go back. But when life takes a turn for the complicated, she’s forced to move in with her twin, Isaac, and his two best friends. To her dismay, one of these is Elliot, the boy Jessie once loved, until his life was changed forever by a terrible accident that Jessie still blames herself for.

Cohabiting with three alarmingly unhouse-trained males was not in Jessie’s life plan so when Isaac, Elliot and Arthur offer her a generous rent discount if she’ll help them with their ‘Boys to Men Project’, designed to end years of disastrous dating, she reluctantly accepts the challenge.

As Jessie embraces the comfort of being home, revelling in her new job at her parents’ day centre full of people determined to grow old disgracefully, she realises her housemates aren’t the only ones needing to make some changes. And maybe, if she can finally forgive herself for Elliot’s accident, she can start to look forward to a future, with or without him by her side.

Reading Beth Moran’s fabulous novels makes every day better. Heart-warming, soul-nourishing, with smart characters and irresistible romances, it’s impossible not to fall in love with a Beth Moran story. Perfect for all fans of Jill Mansell, Julie Houston, and Jenny Colgan.

Beth Moran Beth Moran

Hello and a very warm welcome!

Thank you so much for stopping by to look at one of my books. I write stories set in and around Sherwood Forest, where I live. I love to write books that make readers laugh, swoon, and possibly shed a tear or two, but will ultimately leave you feeling uplifted and inspired. In my books, you’ll meet characters who know that life can be tough sometimes, but they learn to find joy and beauty amongst the mess, especially when they look for it together. This always includes some fantastic women facing the ups and downs of life and love, friendship and family with courage, humour, and hope. If you decide to take a closer look, I hope that you enjoy reading my book as much as I loved writing it!

Much love, Beth

    Absolutely perfect!
Those are the words Beth Slogan used yo end this book, and I agree. The story is quite unique with tragedy, humor, life lessons, and love. There are a variety of characters, but the most important are Jesse who carries a dark secret that propelled her to a wasted life, Isaac her twin who found himself and I’d secretly in love, Elliott who has been Isaac’s best friend for twenty years, Arthur. Who is the town’s undertaker, Connie won is the village vicar, and Elsa who is the single mother of an eighth boy who is on the football team. If you think this sounds like a strange mixture, well you will enjoy their antics, especially the Boys to Men project.

    Enjoyable
There’s a lot of crying in this book. I enjoyed the story and the twist of the leading man being someone with a brain injury. The end was too abrupt. I’ve recently read books by an author who gives one about 15 more minutes after the climax to settle with the story and find out how things turned out. I recommend this more complete end of the story to women’s lit authors. I’m frequently frustrated by abrupt endings.

Another Wonderful Novel by Beth Moran
I read the first novel by Beth Moran and then skipped straight to her most current one because both were offered in my Kindle Unlimited package. To say that I’m looking forward to reading all the ones in between is an understatement. If you want to read a feel good story with great character development, a story that will make you want to keep turning the pages, a story that is perfect to give you happy dreams if you read it before you go to bed at night, and a story that shows that despite our human flaws, frailties and difficulties, we humans can be pretty decent people, the most of us, this is a novelist to read.I won’t go into detail about the book; other reviews will give you a glimpse. I just want to say that I’m glad that there are writers like Ms. Moran in the world. Unless you’re into dystopian novels, I can’t imagine not enjoying and learning something if you read one of her books.

Once again, a hit out of the park for Beth Moran. Her books do not disappoint! Highly recommend.
Where do I start?! I was so engrossed in this story I had to stay up to 2:30 a.m. to finish it!Beth Moran is a master storyteller when it comes to heartfelt, endearing (clean) romance with an equally heartfelt and endearing cast of characters of all ages. I love how this book was partially set at a senior citizen day centre. You’ll also recognize a few characters from “Because You Loved Me.” That was a nice surprise…and unforgettable. lolI loved Jessie and Elliot’s relationship so much. And I loved that he was perfect even with his imperfections due to a terrible accident in their youth. I haven’t read a hero quite like him before. Loved it. And Jessie was a great character to root for!

    Mixed review.
This book showed some captivating moments, but other times seemed to drag on. Perhaps it was me.But it certainly did not hold my interest, the way most good reads do.

    Not Too Bad
The whole premise of the romantic tension was something fresh (at least for me, but I don’t read a whole lot of romance novels). The writing was good enough to keep my interested.

A beautiful story of forgiveness and love,
Chukdhood friends reuniting a decade later, intentionally changing themselves into adults, and what happens afterward. Can you see the future?0

    Loved it!
I really liked Jessie’s character growth from chaotic mess of emotions to someone finding her purpose and confidence. It was nice to see the love and support she got from her family. Even though they didn’t know or understand what she was going through, they respected her privacy while encouraging her. Watching her relationship with Elliott grow as they got to know each other again while maintaining their previous depth of friendship was balanced well. Coach Elliot was inspiring and that storyline was fantastic. Loved Isaac as well, and quirky Arthur was hilarious! Can’t continue to name all the characters, but I will say they each brought something special to the story. I recommend this book!

Surely no author has ever packed more lovely ideas and laughter into one story. There are more inspiring ideas and touching moments than can be found in whole libraries. Strong, uplifting and heart-warming messages for children and adults in every chapter!. A masterpiece.

I was delighted to read this book, because it demonstrates effectively how much it can take someone with special needs or disability (or whatever you want to label it) to do things that others take for granted.

Three and a half stars. When Jessie returns home to Sherwood Forest after a decade of bad decisions and running from the tragedy of prom night she feels like a failure, no home, no job, no money (in fact the exact opposite), forced to live with her twin brother and his mate in their ramshackle frat house apology. Then to make it even worse Jessie finds our her landlord and housemate is none other than Elliot, the boy she kissed at prom, the boy who suffered a traumatic brain injury that night that she blames herself for.Working as the events co-ordinator for her parents’ Day Centre for older residents whilst helping out in her brother’s wedding business at weekends, Jessie is just about keeping her head above water. Then her brother and his friends ask her to help with their frankly abysmal dating skills, they’ve each fallen for a woman and need help to become viable boyfriend candidates.I liked this but I didn’t love it. I found it hard to believe that Jess, who had failed at everything pretty spectacularly, could possibly give advice to three men who otherwise seemed to have their lives together.Read on my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

I was captivated by this story from start to finish and couldn’t wait to be able to read on. I wish I could be part of such a beautiful story. The barn sounded like a wonderful place and also I liked the topics of people who are different and have to deal with all the challenges that brings in real life. I know it’s fictional and the outcome predictable, BUT I personally like it that way. It takes the mind off the day to day tasks and lets you dream a little.
