Angel Falls: A Novel

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Women comes “a tearjerker . . . about the triumphs of family” (Detroit Free Press).

When Mikaela Campbell, beloved wife and mother, falls into a coma, it is up to her husband, Liam, to hold the family together and care for their grieving, frightened children. Doctors tell Liam not to expect a recovery, but he believes that love can accomplish what medical science cannot. Daily he sits at Mikaela’s bedside, telling her stories of the precious life they have built together, hoping against hope that she will wake up. But then he discovers evidence of his wife’s secret past: a first marriage to movie star Julian True.

Desperate to bring Mikaela back at any cost, Liam knows that he must turn to Julian for help. But will that choice cost Liam his wife, his family, and everything he holds dear? One of Kristin Hannah’s most moving novels, Angel Falls is a poignant and unforgettable portrait of marriage and commitment, of an ordinary man who dares to risk everything in the name of love.

Poignant dissection of love and family
Kristin Hannah is a master at taking a marriage and deep diving into all the nuances of the husband and wife’s relationship. A brilliant storyteller, Hannah covers new ground by examining the depth of the husband’s love and the lengths he will go to unselfishly to save the life of his wife who is in a coma. The husband Liam, is one of my favorite characters in a book ever. He is open, abundantly affectionate and emotionally bountiful with his beloved wife and kids. I pulled an all-nighter on this one. I couldn’t stop reading. Deeply touching book with great life lessons as a bargain.

A very good read by Kristin Hannah
The characters were interesting and compelling. The story line held my interest but more so when we learn Kayla / Mike was married to a famous actor prior and then he shows up and she wakes up from her coma. It was a very good story about obsession , bad love , good love , the love of family , the life of a doctor and a nurse and thr hollowness of Hollywood celebrity and how a major health event can change one’s life and their families life and also about what life is like in Washington state. I enjoyed the book but I liked magic hour and The Nightingale by the same author more .

    Good enough
This is not Kristen Hannah’s finest work, but it’s an enjoyable read and a touching story of love both lost and found. Take this book on vacation with you when you want something to read that doesn’t tax your brain. The characters are likable, relatable and pretty well-developed. Then, when your mind is rested read The Great Alone, The Nightingale, The Four Winds, Winter Garden or The Women, books that were written after exhaustive research and are some of the best books I’ve ever read and are books that show the true talent of Kristen Hannah.

    Another great book from KH
If you’re a book worm like I am, this is another AMAZING READ by Kristin Hannah! I think of her books I’ve read so far, I read this one the quickest. I was unable to put it down! KH does not disappoint. I’ve read only a fraction of her novels but I’ve purchased several more, hoping I can just sit and read!

    Heartwarming story
What I loved most about this book was the tender way the mother’s love for her children was written. The beginning with her love for her little boy touched my heart and I was hoping it would continue on in that vein but it was abruptly changed by the incident that went on for the rest of the book so that was disappointing. The adult love story didn’t really affect me as much but all in all it was a good book.

    Wonderful Read
As all of Ms.Hannah’s books, this book left me with happy tears. The story pulls you in and holds you. I have done very little but read today, stopping only when necessities stopped me. And I don’t regret that a bit.

A LOVE STORY THAT STOOD THE TEST OF TIME!
Kristen Hannah has done it again. She has crafted a love story that was troubled for twelve years without her realizing their marriage needed fixing; however, she had a major crisis she had to face and deal with.
