Tasty and healthy
This cookbook is more than just recipes as it contains valuable nutritional information. Each recipe contains the amounts of plant points, protein etc. all designed to help you meet your body’s needs. Dr. Rupy has created some really delicious meals and if you aren’t able to find a few of the ingredients, I found them very easy to obtain online.

Too much spice
This book has loads of information especially if you are looking for ways to fight inflammation. The recipes are full of spice. Not exactly a favorite in my household. So, be aware. I’ll be modifying these recipes. A bit disappointed in that but they have given me a good place to start.

I wanted to love this book because I love his podcast and general philosophy of a varied diet, most things in moderation, focus on protein, high fiber, healthy fats, polyphenols, etc. But too many of the recipes in this book call for ingredients that aren’t available in my area, and too many are meatless or feature fish, which I don’t like. There are a few with chicken, but none with beef or pork. Honestly I don’t know if I’m going to make anything from this book…So far, nothing has grabbed me.An additional gripe I have with it — He seems to try to hide the calorie content of his recipes and of the ingredients.At the beginning of the book he has 4 pages on protein content of various ingredients but lists them as grams of protein per serving, with the serving size in grams. (So, for example, there are 4.5 gm of protein in 30 gm of pecans.) This is useless information . Who monitors what they eat in terms of the number of grams of food? Nobody does. We instead monitor calories. Calories aren’t everything and I don’t count them fanatically, but they do matter.For the recipes, he lists the number of grams of protein below the recipe itself, but to get the number of calories you have to flip to the back of the book….and then you learn that for some of the recipes, the protein per calorie ratio isn’t all that great.It makes a big difference to me if I have to eat 800 calories of something to get 30 gm of protein, vs only 400 calories to get 30 gm of protein. For many of his recipes I’d probably eat a half portion and then eat 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese or some leftover chicken breast on the side, to be sure I get enough protein without overdoing the calories.

Rápidas e fáceis de executar.O livro não desaponta e tem receitas predominantemente plantbased, mas que são facilmente adaptadas a todas as dietas, inclusive , gluten-free (o meu caso), através de trocas simples de ingredientes.Há todo um capítulo dedicado ao peixe e à carne, para quem os consome.Tem , também, um capitulo introdutório dedicado à Nutrição, conciso e simples, explicando os princípios básicos em que o livro se baseia: uma alimentação saudável, rica em nutrientes e anti-inflamatória.O livro, não desaponta e era a resposta que procurava pois sigo uma alimentação muito semelhante ao que o livro sugere, mas em carne, e procurava receitas simples, deliciosas e que permitam preparar , com antecedência as refeições para a semana, mas com especial foco na quantidade de proteína das mesmas, porque sou atleta e necessito ter esse cuidado.
