Quick, easy read!

It has so many twists and turns you’ll be guessing all the way to the end. I love books like this! I wasn’t sure who to believe but I think it mostly came together in the end. It’s a story about what harm gossiping can do to people that are involved as well as those not involved. How it can destroy lives. It’s a really good read and now I’m adding Rona Halsall to my favorite authors list and will be searching out other books by her. I highly recommend and gave it 5 stars.

Nia moves with her young son to a little village in Wales. She’s worried at first that she won’t fit in with the small community because she’s an outsider, but she’s welcomed in, and soon it feels like home. She gets especially close with her neighbor, Seren, who’s the same age and also has a young son.Everything’s great until a rumor starts that leads to a whole bunch of craziness. She’s accused of having an affair with Ifan, her Welsh teacher at the community center, who is also the husband of Sue, the headmistress at her son’s school. Sue may be respected but has a harsh personality, and she’s not exactly well-liked. She hears the rumor and takes it as well as you’d expect. But Nia’s not one to cower, and she refuses to let Sue or anyone else get to her. She also refuses to stay away from Ifan, because he’s a gentle soul with whom she truly bonds.When Nia opens up about her true reasons for coming to the village, things get even more complicated and deadly. All the gossip hardly seems to matter once long-held secrets are divulged. But it’s about how the characters respond to them that drives the plot forward, showing their true selves underneath all the drama.It’s an engaging story about rumors, repercussions, and family ties. I was caught up in the drama, wondering when they were going to figure out who the villain was and make them pay. Not my favorite
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I normally enjoy books by this author but this one was definitely not my favorite. I almost gave up a few times. I really had a hard time with it because it just felt like reading a book based on a soap opera. For me, I really didn’t enjoy it until about 75%. There were a few twists but they were really easy to figure out.

I really enjoyed this book. Loved all the twists and turns! I unfortunately what able to figure out the ending, however it was still a VERY good book! Highly recommend. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

A Fast-Paced Thriller You Won’t Want to Put Down
This book was so good. I was completely hooked, especially toward the end. Once I hit around 60%, I had to sit down and finish it in one sitting. The short chapters made it impossible to stop reading, and I genuinely needed to know what was going to happen next.The tension builds really well, and the story stays fast-paced and engaging without ever feeling confusing or dragged out. The ending was especially strong and kept me on edge the whole time. It was thrilling in the best way.If you enjoy quick, suspenseful thrillers that are hard to put down, I would definitely recommend this one.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ / 5 stars

Crazy good!
This is one of those. books that kept me up late as I couldn’t finish it fast enough! In a small village, there are rumors, affairs, and gossip that involve almost everyone living there. The plot races along and you won’t be able to stop yourself and you may just be breathless at the end!Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Decent thriller
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book. This one took me awhile to really get into. It was a lot of back and forth and hard for me to follow at first. Once it got further into the book I was pretty shocked by some of the things that happened but the twist wasn’t super shocking to me. It was still pretty good.

Tongues are wagging and rumors are swirling in Rona Halsall’s The Gossip! Secrets and lies are the name of the game in the village of Talysarn! All it takes is one rumor is said, an accusation made, and the someone tells someone who tells someone who tells…you get the picture. The rumor spreads like wildfire and it doesn’t matter if it is true or not, the villagers will believe what they want to believe and people’s lives will be changed!!!!! I have read seven of Rona Halsall’s books, and she always delivers dramatic, twist-filled, shocking and thrilling books!Nia, a young widow, has recently moved to the village of Talysarn. It is the fresh start she is looking for, until a horrible rumor is started- that she is having an affair with an older married man! When the man’s wife hears the rumor, well, the you-know-what hits the fan!This book is packed full of drama, secrets, adults behaving badly, gossip, and shocking revelations!!! I loved the tension and the feeling of dread which seeped from the pages. Plus, there are a nice number of characters who kept the drama high and the tensions higher. There are secrets and then there are secrets! This was an entertaining, twisted, and thrilling read!

There was a lot of twists and as usual, Rona Halsall has brought the reader in several directions with suspicion falling on every character including the nicer ones, this like all the author’s other books was engaging and gripping from the first page and my only advice is not to start it unless you have time to keep reading as having to leave it aside when normal life intrudes on my reading time. A real cracker of a book and one I can throughly recommend.
