The Summer House
A chilling, addictive psychological thriller from bestselling thriller writer Keri Beevis
One sister murdered.
One brother jailed.
One love betrayed.
Mead House was once our childhood home. Despite my fears, I always knew we would have to return to face the demons of our past. Back to the place where it happened, to where, as carefree teenagers, we lost our elder sister in the most brutal of circumstances.
As executors of our grandmother’s will, my twin brother, Ollie, and I needed to empty the house for resale. What I didn’t expect to discover was my sister’s secret journal that contained her most private thoughts and shocking dark secrets.
Now I am questioning everything that I saw that night.
Did I get it wrong, who I saw?
Did my evidence send an innocent man, my then boyfriend’s brother, to jail for the last 17 years?
I know I have no choice. If I want to find answers, I will have to go back to that fateful night my sister died. When she made her last visit to the summer house.
A tension-packed psychological thriller that will have you gripped.
Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

Nice, fast-paced read
I really enjoyed this story and all the twists. I got invested into the characters and finished reading the last 25% in one (really late) night. The romance didn’t detract from the thriller part of the plot, which I appreciated.

Just…Wow!
From the gorgeous cover to the very end of this intense story, this author has topped herself.I never talk about other reviews but I read that too many characters were confusing to some. The author has a gift of describing each person in such a way that they stand out and you don’t forget them. Also that their personalities were too unlikable and over the top. I can tell you that Keri Beevis can write about manipulative people, and she was spot on! I know many people like this, except for the murdering part. Ha,ha. I’m not a fast reader, but I couldn’t put this down. The paranoia and twists never stop. I will warn readers that there is sexual violence that will be difficult for some. If you enjoy revenge and if you say you don’t, you’re lying. I guarantee you will never guess the murderer.Read this if you want a non-stop chilling read with a great ending.Highly Recommend! 5-stars!

This book was an addicting page turner!
This was such a great read! I pegged the true killer early on but then went back and forth with some other options that presented themselves. In the end I knew I was right. This was such an amazing psychological thriller, I definitely would recommend reading this book. Don’t be like me, I like to figure out the “who done it” early on then find out if I’m right. I can’t handle surprises, yet this book was full of them.

interesting plot
The plot was interesting enough and there was a lot going on from at least about halfway through the book through the end. I thought parts were predictable but some characters threw me off. I mainly took a star off because books set in the UK kind of take me out of the story I’ve found so it was hard to get into the book and stay interested. It wasn’t bad just took me a while to get hooked.

Loved the feel of the book. The suspense and the mystery kept me turning pages. Loved the romance too deep and intense. Forced myself to read slowly as didn’t want it to end Waiting for the next one.

Camille Hamilton and her twin brother and sister live with their Grandmother, Kitty, in beautiful Mead House, and here begins the story in 2005… One night Camille is in the Summer House, when her innocent life is cruelly taken away.Seventeen years later, following the death of their Grandmother, Ollie and Lana are back at Mead House as they prepare for it to be put on the market. Both have moved on and away from Norfolk and neither want to be back at the place that holds such horrific memories for them.I was straight away on the defence and wondered who was trustworthy, and what was the motive for Camille’s murder? The case was closed years ago, but was all the evidence at the time really solid enough to convict someone.A popular family, particularly beautiful Camille, friends were always welcome at Mead house, so again, who could have wanted Camille out of the way.Could an old journal of Camille’s hold any clues?I felt for Lana who lost more than her sister that night.Ollie’s Fiancée (who I disliked immensely,) Elise, is a bit of a tart and is emotionally detached from what’s going on around her, she should be supporting him but she’s doing everything but…Lana also has other reasons for not wanting to be back, and why are they met with hostility when it was their sister who was cruelly taken from them!Fractured friendships, lost love, suspicion, secrets, there are more issues and drama going on than just Camille’s death. The author reeled me in and left me dangling with unanswered questions and a real feeling of terror at times – who the heck is tormenting the twins and not wanting them back in the area after all these years… What are the locals hiding?Keri Beevis creates such brilliant characters and I really didn’t know whether to like or trust them. Are they genuine or are they narcissistic sociopaths?!I love scary scenes and wasn’t disappointed. Everything I look for in a book of this genre – this one certainly has it! I got more than I hoped for in twists and turns and the author has added some spectacular red herrings to the mix for good measure.Never a boring moment, I loved this book, loved how it progressed and the totally unexpected ending!I highly recommend it!
